spring offensive

Oxford-based Spring Offensive are on top form. Having relentlessly toured the UK last year, successfully increasing their fanbase whilst showcasing their self-released (and now sold out) debut EP material, Spring Offensive went on to receive unanticipated critical acclaim by both journalists and radio tastemakers alike- including BBC1’s Huw Stephens who chose to feature Spring Offensive as a ‘BBC tip of the week’.

It’s always going to be a struggle for under-the-radar DIY bands to gain publicity, yet since forming just under three years ago, Spring Offensive have primarily relied on their own distinctive blend of dynamic indie-rock and introspective lyrics to do the majority of the talking for them. When iTunes unexpectedly featured Spring Offensive under their “What We’re Listening To” homepage section, the rather surprised 5-piece began to notice their self-confessed ‘niche’ music was being listened to by a wealth of new fans all over the globe.

After requests from these new found admirers to hear more material, Spring Offensive released their debut album ‘Pull Us Apart’ earlier this year, supported by debut single “Every Coin”, the video of which was later featured on BBC Oxford news. Having clearly impressed the BBC enough, the band were then hand-chosen to appear on their tribute album to Radiohead’s The Bends.

In addition to being featured on an upcoming Alcopop! Records compilation alongside artists Kevin Devine, The Xcerts and Elephants, Spring Offensive are currently busy preparing a UK and European tour in the Summer to promote the upcoming release of their latest EP The First Of Many Dreams About Monsters – a ‘five-songs-in-one-single-track’ record that band claim is their most intriguing and conceptual material so far.
